WHY

Who’s the Next You?
Finding and keeping young leaders gets tougher every year for local church leaders. That’s why Leadership Pathway launched in 2017—to help churches identify and invest in the next generation. We partner with churches to place young leaders in two-year, customized residency programs and support staff as they coach and develop them for ministry.

We serve churches by helping them find, develop, and keep their next young leader
through coaching, and launching a sustainable leadership residency.

We see a day when every young leader has a proven path and a trusted guide
to help them become hirable and highly desired in ministry.



GOALS

We desire to double revenue and residencies by our 10th birthday in 2027 to 50 new launches.
Someday, we will see 1,000 new churches launch a residency

Externally
We market to, work with, and desire to work with more churches. Even our for-profit clients are former church pastors who now serve churches. We believe it’s the hope of communities and always champion it.

Internally
We are highly engaged locally. If you work at Lp then you serve a local church. You volunteer, and sometimes you are even still on the staff team. If you aren’t…you’ll be frustrated by our passion.

Relationships are everything. We are for you, for the win for your church, and for the kingdom win. We have a one-size-fits-one approach.

Internally

e have a one-size-fits-one approach to our team. We are individuals with unique gifts, talents and passions. We are more than a cog in some wheel.

We reach out not only about the scope of the work but about everything.

We are always asking, “How can we help you do your thing?”

We find this in how we present candidates and treat not just the client but also candidates and all related parties. We go the extra mile relationally in our work. The secret sauce is not in our content or our I.P. It is found in these relationships.

Once you are a friend of Lp you are a friend for life. We want to be in your world and we want you in ours.

Once you are on the bus you are with us. Individuals like Lindsay Hadenfeldt, Sean Badeer, Nancy Fager, Matt McKay, Rich Birch, and Bart Rendel are all great models of where long relationships can take individuals and organizations. We hope the next generation of Jamie, Dillon, Brittany, Austin, Gabbie, and others are still engaged in every way two decades from now.

We partner for the growth and development of those we work with and will help unlock their unrealized potential

Internally
We strive for personal development. There is always room for improvement, so we seek feedback. We believe God doesn’t want us to stay where we are.

We are always asking how things could be better. We know that there are multiple answers that will make something better.  We know residency is a two-way street of learning between a resident and their coach. It is also modeled in that we learn from our clients and one another. We’re always looking for new resources and additional places of learning. It will continue to grow and change just like a person will. New things will make the old thing obsolete.

We go to great lengths so that residents do not get fired or quit.  We hire coaches for us, too. We believe people who are generous with time and ask curious questions are places to go learn and grow from. We seek this for each other weekly.

 

WE CARE TOO MUCH

 

As defined by

Externally
We run towards the smoke. We will move beyond the scope of our agreements if we deem it in the best interest of the church and of the resident.

Internally
We want to know the names of each other’s kids. We don’t want to only do forced devotions and prayer requests for one another’s families. We want to be a part of it. We work with our friends and we can’t swing by their cubicle so we text and have fun.


We believe in the local church and that its success, health, and growth are vital. We are passionate about the work we do to help the local church thrive.


As demonstrated by (our action)
We contractually have only on zoom a month, but we’ll request additional ones and we’ll text/email or call if we know something is up. We do not wait and see. The client never waits on us. Once we commit we don’t say things like “outside of scope.” We are all in.

Once Nina Gable didn’t take a residency in front of her our team made sure her profile was in front of Mt Pleasant Christian Church. We recognized her last name as the same last name as the XP. We asked her where else she was interviewing. We probed deeper into her story & the church story. No one had to do this, but we did it because we care that the church is as prepared as possible. This led to further engagement with Mt Pleasant and displayed what we mean when we say we care too much.
