ministry is human business

I had just started as an intern at a church and a guy named Mike Breaux stuck his head in the room I was working in. I wouldn’t call it an office. It was just a classroom or something. He says, “Hey, that’s a neat spreadsheet, but you are in ministry and that means you are in the people business. You need to get out of this room.” I’m paraphrasing but not by much.

Seems like in every area of life culture is trying to take the “people” out of business. I just walked through security lines at the airport by scanning QR codes, I had been sent a complimentary pass to a club room, I scanned my boarding pass and was let in this amazing United Airlines club. I checked in for my car, and will get my digital key and go straight to the room. Earlier I had a question about a software platform we use and chatted with a bot.

It’s easy to be effective and not engage a human.
